Derby Law Centre was established in April 1996 to provide a free specialist legal service and to increase awareness of legal rights to Derby's most disadvantaged residents.  A registered charity, Derby Law Centre is an independent community legal practice giving free legal advice to residents of Derby City.  Derby Law Centre is funded by Derby City Council, the Community Legal Service, the Community Fund, the DTI and donations.   DLC delivers quality of life improvements for people and their communities within Derby providing free legal advice, representation and advocacy to all, irrespective of race, gender or nationality in the areas of Debt, Employment & Welfare Benefits, Immigration, Nationality and Housing.

Law Centre launches legal help for organisations who share a social agenda

As a direct response to requests from organisations who look for ways to involve their day to day activities with the social enterprise movement and acheive their goal of accessing qualified legal help in return for an equitable fee the law centre has launched a Community Interest Company to respond to this challenge.
