Dealing with Debt

The Dealing With Debt course takes a general approach to debt and debt related issues. It is an accredited Open College Network (OCN) qualification, and it may also assist Trainees in gaining employment

The course consists of a combination of class discussions, work sheets, class hand-outs, power-point presentations, and a small amount of independent coursework outside of the classroom.

By the end of the course the learner will be able to;

¥ Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the different types and causes of   debt - including the definition of Priority and Non-priority debts
¥ Have a fundamental understanding of the need to draw up a Financial Statement on behalf of a client
¥ Be able to draft a Financial Statement
¥ Demonstrate how to respond to emergency and/or urgent circumstances
¥ Be able to write letters and negotiate with creditors on behalf of clients
¥ Have an awareness of other debt advice or debt counselling agencies
