Job Seeking Skills

The Job Seeking Skills course is designed to assist those that have been unemployed for some time to revisit and reflect upon their skills and abilities in order to be able to access employment opportunities.

This is achieved through a combination of class discussions, work sheets, class hand-outs, power-point presentations, and a small amount of independent coursework outside of the classroom.

By the end of the course the learner will be able to;

¥ Recognise and describe their personal skills and abilities
¥ Identify a range of appropriate job search skills
¥ Be able to demonstrate the need for and use of a CV
¥ Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the various aspects of completing letters and application forms
¥ Demonstrate an awareness of varying interview techniques and procedures
¥ Be able to review their own job seeking skills on an on-going basis
